Riffer Collab Obscure References
For Season Eight

--

Four Riffers, Episode 11: Moonlight warrior
(Riffers: Jessie, James, Miyuki, Tomoko)

(Part Two)

Jessie: Super Penis Man has arrived! Sadly, we don't have a new toy trumpet.

Reference to "Outcast Saga Lost in Sailor Moon World", where Axl had a toy trumpet to signal anything that "SPM" did.

Miyuki: So much edge that the guy who used to own copyrights on that word wants a paycheck.

Miyuki's referencing Tim Langdell, who used to own copyrights to the word "Edge" in video games for about 30 years. (He's since lost copyright holdings due to losing a lawsuit against Electronic Arts.)

Four Riffers, Episode 12: Sailor Moon and the New Scouts
(Riffers: Sonic, Kyo L., Kyo K., Mai)

(Part One)

Sonic: Isn't that bestiality?
Kyo L.: Ask Oscar.
Sonic: And now I'm going to puke. Thanks, Kyo.

A rather squicky reference to "Artemis' Lover".

(Part Two)

Kyo L.: *as Erica* After all, you girls are just functions!

"If you were to actually think about it, these characters are just functions. They're just doing things." It's a reference to the terrible PR nightmares that have plagued "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite".

Elusion then set to
work, and quickly bound Serena's arms and legs with smooth black-metal
chains.

Sonic: Benji, is that you?
Kyo K.: Ugh. No.

Reference to "Outcast Saga", where Benji the Sexist Ninja hog-tied Rei and Usagi.

(Part Five)

Mai: *woodenly* Help me.

Reference to "Rocket Attack USA", where a blind man flatly says that line.

Four Riffers, Episode 13: Sailor Moon Protecting the Future
(Riffers: Sonia, Miyu, Benimaru, Axl)

(Part Two)

Back at Sensara's palace, Sensara and Darien were just about to walk down the isle when they herd the trumpets sound.

Miyu: We're in the Hoenn region now?

Reference to the Pokemon's third generation on the Game Boy Advance (specifically, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald), where it was joked that the music was full of trumpet sounds.

Four Riffers, Episode 14: Sailor Moon and the Golden Key
(Riffers: Manic, Jessie, Emi, James)

(Part Two)

Manic: Kathryn was an alien the whole time? Now I know how she warped Knothole to do her bidding.

Yes, it's another reference to "The White Hedgehog". No wonder she hogged every single scene, including the ones where she wasn't present.

(Part Three)

Manic: What are they gonna teach her?
Emi: They're going to teach her how to do their taxes.

Reference to Vinesauce. Joel sometimes makes jokes about having to pay taxes.

(Part Six)

Manic: I know that I'm a hedgehog, but... what is it with these jerks crapping on the human race?
Jessie: I don't know, but I'm about to go all Das Mervin on their useless smug asses in two damn seconds.

Yes, it is a beserk button for Mervin. She ranted about it during her takedown of the "Twilight" series a few times.

Four Riffers, Episode 15: Sailor Moon and the Immortal Ring
(Riffers: Amy, Cassy, Keiko, Rory)

(Part Three)

Cassy: Did they get that useless reporter guy from "Tekken 7" to do the "screaming"?

Amy: That's a serious case of dull surprise.

Yes, Amy and Cassy are making fun of the boring reporter from that game. One of the dullest lines happens to be... "I saw Jin, and my heart filled with rage."

Rory: There are four Scouts! There are four Scouts!

Rory's referencing an episode from "Star Trek: The Next Generation". (Chain of Command: Part 2)

(Part Four)

Cassy: Did this broken ass Sue just turn into a monument?

Cassy: Put a damn plaque on her stone body and wait a decade.

Both lines are callbacks to "Sabrina's Adventure" and the sequel "Sabrina's Adventure 2: Return of Sabrina". The first is a callback to Kyo's line in the first "Sabrina's Adventure": "Wh -- what the fuck?! How in the hell did this broken ass Sue turn into a monument?!". The second line references the beginning of the sequel.

Bonus: They Just Didn't Care

Benimaru: No, they just didn't care. Plot points are all over the place. Details are missing or randomly smacked into our faces. It's just a vehicle for the Sue to brag about how great she is.

Jessie: Suethors didn't care. Why should we?

James: They just didn't care.

Keiko: The Suethors didn't care, Morgan. I guess we shouldn't, either.

Amy: They just... they just did not care about any of this, huh?

Rory: Holy crap, they really didn't care!

They just didn't care. They just didn't care. They just didn't care. This is a shout-out to the MST3K episode known as "Attack of the the Eye Creatures". Truly, they just didn't care.
