Sonic CD 510 - CW Cyrix's Audio Patch 2012/07/05-06 by CW Cyrix/Ami Sapphire The current version of this release is: [Version 1.0] --- The audio files were ripped from the BIN/CUE 1:1 image of Sonic CD 712 release and converted to WAV format before the image was created. All but two were done in this fashion because the original MP3 files, which were originally tracks 28 and 31 (Speed Shoes and Special Stage respectively), they were found only on the original Sonic CD 510 release. Some audio tracks have glitches. The following so far: 1. Tidal Tempest Present [Track 8, around 00:26 or 00:29] (not easily noticeable) 2. Metallic Madness Bad Future [Track 22, from 00:00 - 00:07] (very noticeable) 3. Little Planet [Track 32, from 00:30 to 00:34] Those glitched tracks, unfortunately, came from the 712 release. If I feel like it, I may fix them using the finalized versions of these tracks. --- You may burn this image on a CD, but today's disk storage space makes this less necessary. However, this is necessary if you are going to run this on an older PC via a compatible emulator (or even a real Sega CD/Mega CD!). --- The CUE file may be manipulated to have gapless audio when the track repeats in-game. The original format is the following: TRACK 03 AUDIO INDEX 01 05:27:26 TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 01 06:48:02 TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 01 08:12:06 ... Simply add INDEX 00 prior to INDEX 01 starting with TRACK 03 AUDIO to the very end, subtracting two seconds from INDEX 01 and the final format will be the following: TRACK 03 AUDIO INDEX 00 05:25:26 INDEX 01 05:27:26 TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 00 06:46:02 INDEX 01 06:48:02 TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 00 08:10:06 INDEX 01 08:12:06 ... I have since created the file for you. This will work fine in a real audio player. However, Kega Fusion ignores INDEX 00, as noted in this thread: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?18897 --- Why the CUE edit? Sonic CD 712's CUE file (in the BIN/CUE release) itself has INDEX 00 commands before INDEX 01 commands from tracks 03 to 35. This created gapless audio while playing in-game or on a real CD audio player. Following this logic, Sonic CD 510 has this, as well. Since this was effectively destroyed during the conversion to ISO+MP3, it was manually recreated. Both gapped and gapless CUE sheets are included. Why was this CD image process done? Mostly personal reasons (wanted BIN/CUE image, better quality audio tracks, etc.). That, and showing my own skills of creating such a CD image. After hearing the story of how the only version of Sonic CD 510 was released as ISO+MP3 (which happened back in 2000!), I created this patched file. --- Email!
