This driver is designed only for:

Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 operating system
Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95 operating system

Generalmusic Serial Midi Device uses COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4 in a PC Windows 95 or 98 computer, normally COM1 to COM2 refer to COM (RS232 standard) port connectors on the back of your computer, typically those are 9 or 25 pin DSUB male connectors.
If you have a mouse or modem connected to COM1 it is a good idea to use COM2.
From your instrument or audio equipment you must set the appropriate communication setting (refer to its proper owner's manual) choosing between: OFF, MAC, PC1 or PC2, using this driver you can select the speed PC1  (31250baud) or PC2 (38400baud), having the caution to choose same speed on driver OPTIONS dialog box.
To install the driver proceed as follow:

WINDOWS 98

Exit from all applications opened on your PC.
1. Click the START button, select SETTING then choose CONTROL PANEL.
2. Click or double click on ADD NEW HARDWARE icon.
3. Click NEXT two times.
4. If the "Is the device that you want to install listed below?" message appears, select "No, the device isn't in the list".
   And
   Select "No, I want to select the hardware from a list." in response to "Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?", then click NEXT.
5. When the PC asks to choose the kind of hardware choose SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS then NEXT.
6. When the PC asks to select the manufacturer or model of hardware you must click on  HAVE A DISK button.
7. Now PC asks where to look for it, click on BROWSE then specify "(CDROM letter):\tools\serial driver\" path.
8. GMSMID9x.inf appears on the left side box, click OK three times then choose END.
9. The driver OPTION box appears on the screen, set the appropriate COMx port and PCx speed, click OK.
10. Then the PC asks to be restarted, you must to do it to activate the driver at the next logon.

WINDOWS 95

Exit from all applications opened on your PC.
1. Click the START button, select SETTING then choose CONTROL PANEL.
2. Double click on ADD NEW HARDWARE icon.
3. Click NEXT.
4. When the PC asks to look for new hardware choose NO then NEXT.
5. When the PC asks to choose the kind of hardware choose SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS then NEXT.
6. When the PC asks to select the manufacturer or model of hardware you must click on DISK button.
7. Now PC asks where to look for it, click on BROWSE then specify "(CDROM letter):\tools\seria~11\" path.
8. GMSMID9x.inf appears on the left side box, click OK then choose END.
9. The driver OPTION box appears on the screen, set the appropriate COMx port and PCx speed, click OK.
10. Then the PC asks to be restarted, you must to do it to activate the driver at the next logon.

UNINSTALL THE DRIVER

1. Open the control panel, and double-click "Multimedia" or "Sounds and Multimedia."
2. Click the "Devices" tab (for Windows 95, the "Advanced" tab).
3. Double-click "MIDI devices and Instruments."
4. Select "Generalmusic Serial MIDI Driver (Win9x)" and click [Properties].
5. In the lower right of the dialog box, click [Remove].
6. Several dialog boxes will ask you for confirmation. When Windows is restarted, the Serial MIDI Driver will be removed.
