Installation and use
Beep Code 1-5-4-4
Power control failure . Check power supplies, cables, or replace the power distribution board.

Beep Code definitions
1-1-1-1 No processors present in the system, or processors are incompatible
1-2-2-3 BIOS ROM checksum.
1-3-1-1 Test DRAM refresh.
1-3-1-3 Test 8742 Keyboard Controller.
1-3-3-1 Autosize DRAM, system BIOS stops execution here if the BIOS does not detect any usable memory DIMMs.
1-3-4-1 Base RAM failure, BIOS stops execution here if entire memory is bad.
2-1-2-3 Check ROM copyright notice.
2-2-3-1 Test for unexpected interrupts.
1-2 Search for option ROMs. One long, two short beeps on checksum failure.
1 One short beep before boot (normal).
1-5-2-1 Empty processor slot or processor in memory board slot.
1-5-2-2 No processors installed or processor SEEPROM not accessible.
1-5-3-1 P2XP L2 cache voltage ID mismatch, modules 1&2.

LAN Alert instructions
Configuring the parameters on the server side (managed server) -
Boot your system to the System Setup Utility (SSU) from either the Service Partition or the System Resource CD supplied with your server board.
Select Utilities from the top menu.
Select System Setup Utility from the drop down menu.
After the System Setup Utility has launched:
Select Platform Event Manager.
Select Configure LAN.
Select the check box for Enable LAN Alerts.
Enter a Password (Not required, but highly recommended).
Enter the same Password in the Verify Password box.
Select type of LAN Access under LAN Access Mode:
Always Available (see help for definition).
Restricted (see help for definition).
Select SNMP Community String (default is Public). This must be the same as on the client workstation.
Select the Type of IP addressing you are using: Static or DHCP
Enter the IP address of the client that is going to receive LAN Alerts in the Alert IP Address box.
Verify all information is correct.
Select Save.
Select Options (top of screen).
Select Configure LAN Alerts.
Select the LAN Alerts that you wish to be notified on by clicking on them in the Disabled box on the left and clicking on the < to move them to the Enabled box on the right. You can move all items by selecting the << button. Verify all selections.
Select Save.
Select Close to close the Configure LAN Alerts window.
Select Close to close the Platform Event Manager window.
Select Exit at the System Setup Utility window.
Select OK on the "Are you sure you want to exit SSU" box.
Press the ESC key.
Select Quit to DOS.
Select Quit Now.
If you have booted from the Resource CD, remove it.
Reboot the server to the Server OS

Configuring the parameters on the client side (client manager) -
Dependencies: You must have Intel® Server Management installed.
Launch LAN Alert Viewer by Selecting: Start - Programs - Intel Server Management - LAN Alerts Viewer.
Select Configure.
Select either:
Pop Up Messages Box (see help for definition).
Show LAN Alert Console (see help for definition).
Select the type of events that you would like to see by checking the appropriate box.
Select Apply.
Select Save.
You are now setup to receive LAN Alerts.
Note If you are going to receive LAN Alerts across a routed network you may have to enable Proxy ARP on the router between the server network and the client network to receive LAN Alerts.

Last Known issues
When a system has two processors installed, the system will not boot from the first processor when the second processor has a defective VRM.

The maximum power per drive is 14 watts
The /PAE option must be enabled in the ARC path in the boot.ini file in order for Windows* 2000 to recognize memory above 4.0GB
