Disabling Chassis Intrusion Detection
Short the 2-pin ADM1026 with a jumper.

Error: "Could Not Open Boot Partition to check for signature"
The Adaptec* 2000S RAID controller not initializing. An update or recovery of the firmware on the Adaptec* 2000S controller is required. Contact Adaptec for additional help.

Error: "System Voltage Out of Range"
Error 0B75, SEL Event #11. Intel® Server Control reports the VBAT voltage is below non-critical Reapply the FRU/SDR update, or remove the battery, buff it lightly, then reinstall.

Hard drive LED does not show hard drive activity
The Intel® server board SDS2 does not support IDE activity lights on the front panel, only SCSI.

How To Set Up LAN Alerts
Boot to the System Setup Utility (SSU) from either the Service Partition or the System Resource CD supplied with your server board.
Select Utilities | System Setup Utility | Platform Event Manager | Configure LAN

Installing the Server Board Platform Confidence Test Package
Insert the resource CD into a Windows* based system. If the GUI does not auto-launch, double-click your CDROM drive.
Utilities | Platform Confidence Test | Create Diskette
Run the ****PCT.exe (where **** refers to the code for a particular board) to extract the Platform Confidence Test to floppy
Reboot the server to the resource CD, and chose Quit | Quit Now
Insert the floppy disk, and run MKBOOT.BAT file. This will make the floppy bootable
Reboot your system to the floppy, to run the PCT.

LPT2 Port Seen In Device Manager
Re-install Operating System with ACPI support. Do not press F5 or F8 during installation.

PCI slot numbers
Slot 1 is closest to the processors, with slot 6 at the bottom of the board. Slots 1,2,5, and 6 are 64-bit 66MHz slots, and slots 3 and 4 are 32-bit 33MHz slots.

RAID Resource CD May Fail to Launch Storage Console
  1. Boot to the Intel RAID Resource CD.
  2. As soon as the Startup screen appears, press F8.
  3. Choose Y to each option in line EXCEPT the following: DEVICE=\UTILS\STORCON\SRCX000.EXE
  4. At C:\> prompt, type "CD Utils\Storcon".
  5. At C:\Utils\Storcon> prompt, type ""SRCX000"" to load STORCON DOS driver.
  6. After driver loads, type "STORCON" to start Storage Console.

Tested Hardware and Operating Systems
To install Novell NetWare* v6.0 SP1: Create a 200MB bootable DOS partition on the installation hard drive
Format the partition and create a directory called 'nwupdate'
Copy server.exe from the SP1 directory 'startup' into the 'nwupdate' directory
Launch the Novell NetWare* v. 6.0 install, and select 'Use the existing boot partition'
