Using NetShow Player in America Online 3.0

NetShow Player can work in the America Online (AOL) browser, as long as the player is registered.

To register NetShow Player with AOL 3.0

1. Using a text editor, open the AOL Viewers.ini file.

   The file is in the AOL3.0 install directory, which by default is c:\aol30\viewers.ini.

2. Look for the section [Viewers]. If it does not exist, create the section.
3. In the Viewers section, add the line

   video/x-ms-asf=NetShow Active Streaming Format (*.ASX,*.ASF)

4. Add the following section to the Viewers.ini file.

   
   [video/x-ms-asf]
   Ext=asf,asx
   App=C:\Program Files\Microsoft NetShow\Player\nsplayer.exe
