A unicast .asx file is a text file that states the path to an .asf file URL. In its simplest state, an .asx file contains two lines - one line that declares the reference section and one that states the URL to an .asf file. But an .asx file can contain a lot more. You can also make the .asx file more robust by including additional paths to .asf files in the reference section, and you can include a description section that typically provides information about the .asf files that are referenced.
