About the RTP Audio Control

The audio control enables end users to receive multicast audio transmissions over the Internet or a corporate intranet using the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP).

With the audio control, developers can perform the following operations for receiving Microsoft® NetShow™ RTP audio transmissions:

Start or stop the receiving of an audio transmission.
Set an IP address and port of the transmission to be received.
Choose the appropriate codec (compression-decompression algorithm) of the audio signal to match the codec used for transmission.
Enable or disable the Real-Time Control Protocol (RTCP)
Enable or disable the automatic setting of the appropriate codec.
Set the TTL (time-to-live) value of the feedback packet stream by means of RTCP.
