Working with Programs and Streams

A NetShow™ program is a series of streams. When you start a program, NetShow starts multicasting the first stream in the program. When the first stream ends, the next begins. The program ends when the last stream has finished. Streams play in the order in which they are shown in the list. You can automatically repeat programs, and you can specify how long you want each stream in the program to run.

Programs organize the streams in a multicast. When you create a program, you specify the input source for each stream in the program and the output destination, either a channel for Active Streaming-based multicasts or a destination address and port for RTP audio or file transfer multicasts. Select Manage Programs to create programs and to start and stop multicasting NetShow programs.
