Unicasting with NetShow

Unicasts are bidirectional communications. That is, clients connect to a server and request a stream of data from the server. NetShow unicasts live and stored ASF streams. NetShow provides multiple ways to set up a unicast. In the simplest case, a client running the stand-alone NetShow Player can start the player and specify the URL of the unicast server to receive the stream. You can also create an announcement for the unicast. Clients using either the stand-alone or embedded player can connect to the server through the announcement. You can also set up a unicast to make use of a channel and program. This allows you to schedule the consecutive play of any number of live or stored ASF streams.
