SYMPTOMS
========

After you install MSN, The Microsoft Network, either or both of the following
connections may exist in the Dial-Up Networking folder:

 - The Microsoft Network

 - The Microsoft Network (Backup)

These connections should be removed by MSN Setup when you upgrade your version of
MSN.

CAUSE
=====

The connections listed above may not be removed properly when you upgrade your
version of MSN.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, delete the Dial-Up Networking connections listed above.
To do so, use the following steps:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Dial-Up
   Networking.

   NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows 98, click Start, point to Programs,
   point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Dial-Up
   Networking.

2. Right-click the The Microsoft Network connection (if it exists), and then
   click Delete.

3. Right-click the The Microsoft Network (Backup) connection (if it exists), and
   then click Delete.

4. Close the Dial-Up Networking window.
