SYMPTOMS
========


When you create an Internet Relay Chat Protocol (IRCX) channel on server A, then
use the Microsoft Internet Chat (MIC) protocol to connect to another server, B,
that is connected to A, the channel name may not appear correctly. Note that
this problem does not occur if you use an MIC client to connect to A.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For more information, please see the following article in the

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Chat Server program that is
included with Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 1. This problem
was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 2.
