versions can be downloaded from their website at http://www.adobe.com. For the OpenVMS operating system, you

must go to http://www.openvms.digital.com/new/ and follow the instructions on Installing and Using Adobe Acrobat Viewer (for Java) on Open VMS Alpha Systems.

Consult the system QuickSpec to determine minimum operating system and firmware revisions that are supported for PowerStorm 300/350 graphics controllers.

Important Installation Notes

Tru64 UNIX
Before installing PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support, you must remove all graphics support software from the system. After you have installed PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support, if you upgrade or reinstall the operating system, you must first de-install PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support. Once the operating system update has completed, you may reinstall PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support.

Do not install the Open3D kit in addition to PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support. Installing an Open3D kit after installing PowerStorm 300/350 UNIX Graphics Support may cause unpredictable results.

PowerStorm 300/350 - Monitor Support

The PowerStorm 300/350 graphics controllers have been qualified on Compaq monitors and ViewSonic model P817; results on other monitors may differ.

Running Multiple PowerStorm 300/350 Graphics Controllers

Supported Multiple Configurations

Tru64 UNIX
All platforms running the Tru64 UNIX operating system that support single PowerStorm 300/350 PCI graphics controllers will also support any combination of up to eight PowerStorm 300/350 PCI graphics controllers. Refer to the System QuickSpec for information and configuration limitations on multihead support for a specific system platform.

Windows NT
Platforms running the Windows NT operating system that support single PowerStorm 300/350 PCI graphics controllers will support dual PowerStorm 300/350 PCI graphics controller configurations as follows:

Multiple Configuration Rules

Follow these rules to configure multiple PowerStorm 300/350 graphics controllers.

VGA
VGA must be enabled on the graphics controller residing in the lowest numbered slot on the primary PCI bus (compared to other graphics controllers). VGA must be disabled on the other graphics controllers residing in higher numbered slots on the primary PCI bus or on other PCI buses.

The maximum screen size for the PowerStorm 300/350 PCI graphics controllers in multiple PowerStorm configurations is as follows:

* Compaq Tru64 UNIX provides two separate display areas. The maximum screen size values shown are for each display area. The functionality of panoramiX is currently not supported.
