This guide is for experienced users of standard PVM. It assumes that the user understands the theory of standard PVM and has experience of using it.

Chapter 1 provides a brief introduction to Compaq PVM, the requirements for installing Compaq PVM, and the installation instructions.
Chapter 2 provides a comparison of standard PVM and Compaq PVM; and indicates the sections in the PVM 3 User's Guide and Reference Manual not relevant when running Compaq PVM.
Chapter 3 explains how to modify a standard PVM application before running it with Compaq PVM.
Chapter 4 explains how to run the Compaq PVM application.
Chapter 5 explains how to manage the Compaq PVM application after running it.
