DIGITAL recommends that you use the kf77 -fkapargs='-
conc'
DIGITAL UNIX linker switch default -call_
shared
which causes an image to be linked with the DECthreads
shared library libpthread.so
. The shared library
default eliminates the need for you to rebuild images each time
a new version of DIGITAL UNIX is released. However, in the case
where you want to link the image to the DECthreads archive library
libpthread.a
, use the -non_shared
switch
and the following procedure:
You should have installed the CMPDEVENH subset (Development Enhancements for DIGITAL UNIX) from the DIGITAL UNIX 4.0B and above operating system CD-ROM. The DECthreads archive library is at the following location:
/usr/opt/alt/user/lib/threads/libpthread.a
To link to libpthread.a
when you are building a
parallel program, use the following command:
kf77 -fkapargs='-conc' -non_shared \ /usr/opt/alt/usr/lib/threads/libpthread.a myprog.f
