This chapter gives general information about KAP syntax, file naming conventions, and optimizing programs with KAP. Sections describing how to compile and run programs with KAP are specific to single-processor Digital UNIX systems. For information on how to compile and run programs with KAP on multiprocessor systems, see Chapter 3.
KAP for DEC Fortran can be run in either of two modes:
kf77
command accepts
Fortran source as input, calls KAP to preprocess and optimize
that input, calls the Digital Fortran compiler and the linker,
and passes all of the compiler switches to the Digital Fortran
compiler and all of the linker switches to the linker.
