DESCRIPTION: |
This package contains Intel PRoset for the listed notebook models, adapters, and operating systems. Intel PROSet is a wireless LAN (WLAN) application that replaces the default Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration service. Once Intel PROSet is installed, it must be used to configure Intel wireless devices and to manage the wireless network connection. Intel PROSet is required for users with the listed Intel adapters in order to connect to wireless networks that use Cisco Compatible Extensions. Users may also find Intel PROSet useful for advanced profile management, single-sign-on support, and advanced diagnostics. Most home and small office/home office (SOHO) users do not need this functionality. If Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration service is desired again, uninstall Intel PROSet and restart the notebook. |

Intel PROSet 10.5.0.1 (for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200, 2915, and 3945 Network Connections) includes the following fixes: - Fixes a memory leak in the Intel PROSet software. - Fixes issue where profiles are deleted if new attribute settings are set in the users directory and the software is then upgraded from Intel PROSet 9.x to Intel PROSet 10.5. - Fixes issue where profiles are not migrated after an upgrade to Intel PROSet 10.5 from previous Intel PROSet versions. - Enables the notebook to enter auto-suspend (S3) mode when associated with security and the Intel PROSet user interface is open. - Fixes intermittent issue where a Cisco 1200 Access Point cannot be authenticated in environments with heavy traffic. - Fixes an intermittent issue where roaming PROSet profiles are not downloaded/uploaded. |

PREREQUISITES: |
- Download and install HP SoftPaq Number SP33632 (or later) titled, "Intel PRO/Wireless Drivers," Version 5.10 Rev B, before installing this SoftPaq. |

HOW TO USE: |
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 3. Restart the notebook after the installation is complete. NOTE: After the files are unpacked, the Setup program runs automatically. If the setup program (Sinstall.exe) needs to be run manually, look for it in the download directory.
