TITLE: NVIDIA IDE Drivers - PATA, SATA, and SATA RAID Drivers for NVIDIA nForce
Chipset

VERSION: 553 Rev. A
DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the NVIDIA IDE 553 Drivers for parallel ATA (PATA) and
serial ATA (SATA) drives, and the RAID driver for SATA drives, to support the
mass storage controllers in the listed workstation models with the NVIDIA
nForce Chipset and the listed operating system.

NOTE: HP xw9300 Workstations having system BIOS version 2.00 (or later), must
be upgraded to NVIDIA IDE driver 553 (or later).

CAUTION: Optical storage devices are the only PATA peripherals supported on the
HP xw9300 Workstation. The HP xw9300 workstation does NOT support PATA hard
disk drives in any RAID or non-RAID configuration. If PATA RAID is currently
being used on the HP xw9300 Workstation, do NOT upgrade to system BIOS 2.00 (or
later) because of potentially serious side effects. For example, the PATA RAID
drive may become unbootable, resulting in loss of data.

CAUTION: Optical storage devices are the only PATA peripherals supported on the
HP xw9300 Workstation. The HP xw9300 workstation does NOT support PATA hard
disk drives in any RAID or non-RAID configuration. If PATA RAID is currently
being used on the HP xw9300 Workstation, do NOT upgrade to system BIOS 2.00 (or

drive may become unbootable, resulting in loss of data.

1. Ensure that the target workstation is running system BIOS version 2.00 (or
later).

2. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

3. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. When prompted, accept the driver update option to reboot the system after
the driver is installed. The system does not reboot on its own. A hard Power
Off and restart is required to complete the driver installation.
