DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the System BIOS image (BIOS Family 786B9) and local and 
remote BIOS flash utilities for the HP xw9300 Workstation.

System BIOS is operating system independent. 

NOTE: After upgrading the system BIOS to version 2.xx (or later), the NVIDIA 
Driver MUST be upgraded to NVIDIA IDE Driver 5532 (or later). (This action is 
not required for systems configured with a serial ATA (SATA) RAID drive.)

ENHANCEMENTS: 
- Provides new Setup option in the Thermal menu that enables/disables the 
suppression of the error message and the F1 boot prompt when the front PCI fan 
detection does not find a fan.
- Reduces acoustic noise with improved fan control.

FIXES: 
- Fixes BIOS issue that causes the Linux NvNet driver to fail during LAN 
initialization.
- Uses Version 229.0525 of the preboot execution environment (PXE) boot ROM. 
This version fixes several LAN initialization issues.

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade 
the System BIOS.

NOTE: Steps 3 and 4 are not required on systems configured with a SATA RAID 
drive.

3. Download and run the SoftPaq Setup Utility for the NVIDIA IDE Driver 5532 
(or later).

NOTE: Look for the NVIDIA IDE Driver 5532 (or later) SoftPaq at www.hp.com.

4. Accept the option to restart (reboot) the system after the NVIDIA IDE Driver 
5532 (or later) is installed.

NOTE: The system does not reboot automatically. Power the workstation Off and 
back On to restart the system after upgrading to the NVIDIA IDE Driver 5532 (or 
later).
