Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Execute the downloaded file and navigate to the location where the file was extracted (the default location is C:\SWSetup\SP32153). 3. If you have a diskette drive available, either Option A or Option B may be selected to upgrade the hard disk firmware. If no diskette drive is available, use Option B to upgrade the hard disk firmware. OPTION A ======== NOTE: Using this option destroys any data on the diskette. 1. From the folder that contains the extracted SoftPaq files, run the DISK.BAT file to create a bootable diskette. 2. After the bootable diskette has been created, boot the desktop from the diskette. The diskette runs the utility to update the firmware on the hard drive, if appropriate. OPTION B ======== 1. Navigate to the folder that contains the extracted SoftPaq files (the default location is C:\SWSetup\SP32153). 2. Copy all the files that are found in the FILES folder to the bootable media (for example, ZIP disk or bootable Disk On Key). 3. Restart (boot) the desktop from the bootable media and run the UPDATE.BAT file. The UPDATE.BAT file launches the utility to update the firmware on the hard drive, if appropriate.
