DESCRIPTION:   This release provides updated system ROM images
for the latest maintenance releases of HP ProLiant DL580 G3 Servers.



New Features -


        HP ProLiant DL580 G3 system ROM P38 (12/22/2005)
        =================================================

		1) Added support for enabling Intel's Virtualization Technology (VT).  
		   This feature is supported on Intel's new dual-core Intel Xeon MP 
		   processors.  VT provides enhanced support for virtualization and 
		   will be utilized by future Virtual Machine Managers.  This support 
		   is disabled by default and can be enabled using the ROM-Based 
		   Setup Utility (RBSU).

		1) Resolved issue where a lock-up may occur in the following conditions:
		
			- Power Regulator HP Dynamic Power Savings Mode or Power 
			  Regulator HP Static Low Power Mode are enabled.
			
			- iLO FW 1.80 or later is installed.
		
			- The HP Systems Management Driver is installed.
		   
		   The issue will typically occur very early in the OS initialization 
		   when the Systems Management Driver is loaded. iLO FW 1.80 supports 
		   a new feature to report power state information and there is an 
		   incompatibility when the HP Systems Management Driver is loaded. 
		   This issue is very timing dependent and does not always occur. 
		   This System ROM addresses this potential timing issue.

HOW TO USE:


1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP32121.EXE.


3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP32121.exe [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.


4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP32121.EXE if you wish.
