DESCRIPTION:
This package provides an Enhanced Write Filter update for the listed thin 
client models running the Microsoft Windows XP Embedded (XPe) Operating System. 


NOTE: This SoftPaq provides a fix for an issue where the Computer Account 
Password (Domain Secret Password) could be lost if it is changed and 
synchronized, then an improper shutdown occurs due to a power outage or by 
Powering Off abruptly with a surge protector.

The potential exists to lose the Computer Account Password (Domain Secret 
Password) synchronization if an improper shutdown occurs. The improper shutdown 
would need to occur on the same boot cycle in which the computer password was 
changed and synchronized for this to happen.

FIXES: 
- Fixes an issue where the Computer Account Password (Domain Secret Password) 
could be lost. When this issue occurs, the following error message is generated 
at the next attempt to log onto the domain: "Windows cannot connect to the 
domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, 
or because the computer account was not found. Please try again later. If the 
message continues to appear, contact your system administrator for 
assistance."

PREREQUISITES: 
- Altiris Deployment Server 5.6 SP1 (or later) must be installed.
- Requires HP Compaq Thin Clients Microsoft Windows XP Embedded Image version 
5.1.212 or 5.1.314 (does not work with other image versions).

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file to extract files to the Altiris deployment 
share. By default, this path is "C:\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment 
Server".
