New Features - ProLiant DL140 G2 Lights-Out 100i Ver. 1.21 =========================================== IMPORTANT: After upgrading to the ProLiant DL140 G2 BMC Firmware v1.21 the BMC may not be recognized during POST when connecting the server to AC power and immediately powering on. Upgrading the DL140 G2 system ROM to version 1.14 or later will prevent this issue. NOTE: Secure Socket Layer, Secure Shell and virtual floppy enhancements are available as LO100i technology previews with this firmware release. This allows customers to evaluate and use these features at no extra charge for an unlimited timeframe on ProLiant DL140 G2 servers. 1. Added support for SSL Encrypted browser communication. 2. Added support for SSH Encrypted command line interface communication. 3. Added support for DMTF SMASH Command Line Protocol. 4. Added support for IPMI 2.0. 5. Added support for Operator user account. 6. Added minor changes to the HTML user interface to improve clarity and consistency. 7. Added support for booting from a virtual floppy. Problems Fixed - ProLiant DL140 G2 Lights-Out 100i Ver. 1.21 =========================================== 1. Resolved an issue where the user would see false event logs for CPU and SYS fans in the System Event Log when they restart the server. Known Problems - 1. If the user tries to remotely establish a remote console EMS connection with a server running Windows 2003 SP1, the session will disconnect the first time this is attempted. Subsequent attempts to establish and log in to EMS will work. Will be fixed in an upcoming maintenance release. 2. PXE booting will fail if the customer has the BMC configured via BIOS setup to use the shared NIC. (PXE booting works fine if the customer has the BMC configured to use the dedicated NIC). This will be fixed in a subsequent maintenance release. HOW TO USE: 1. Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
