The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running F10 Setup. To flash (upgrade) the ROM image remotely over a network with these .CAB files, you must use Remote Management Software such as Compaq System Software Manager (SSM). The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Evo notebooks. 3. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store. 4. When used with WINFLASH, run the SoftPaq to get the .cab file.
