Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Execute the SoftPaq by double clicking on the SoftPaq executable file. * If your hardware is not already installed... 3. Install hardware. The operating system should associate the drivers and hardware automatically. 4. The hardware should be ready for use. * If your hardware is already installed... 3. From the start menu, click the Control Panel icon. Once the control panel window maximizes, click the system icon. Browse the tabs at the top and click the Hardware tab. Find the Device Manager section and click the Device Manager button. 4. After Device Manager opens, find the Network Adapters label and expand it by clicking the plus sign. Locate the Compaq Wireless PC Card and click your right mouse button. Click update driver. 5. The Hardware Update Wizard will appear. Make sure 'Install hardware automatically' is selected and click 'Next'. (If you wish, you can select 'Install from a list or specific location', and point the wizard directly to the folder in which the new drivers reside.) 6.
