Support is included for the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN MiniPCI Adapters. Notable changes / additions: - Corrects operation of radio hardware on/off switch 2) Installing/updating the adapter driver ----------------------------------------- NOTE: You must install or update the device driver BEFORE installing PROSet. You must install the base drivers according to the methods and requirements specific to each operating system. You can find the installation information for most popular operating systems in the Online User Guide. If you are updating from a previous driver version, select update driver from device manager, select to specify a location, and specify the appropriate OS directory. 3) Installing/Updating Intel Wireless PROSet -------------------------------------------- PROSet is a separate installable module in this software release. NOTE: You must install or update the device driver BEFORE installing PROSet. If you currently have Wireless PROSet 7.0.x.x software installed you must remove the 7.0.x.x software before installing PROSet 7.1.0.0. This can be accomplished via Windows Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs. Remove the entry labeled Intel(R) PROSet. 4) Compatibility ---------------- This release supports - Windows* XP (Home/PRO/Tablet) - Windows 2000 PRO - Windows 98 - Windows NT* 4.0 This release supports only the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN MiniPCI Adapters. Not supported are the Intel PRO/Wireless 2011/2011B PC Card, or the Intel PRO/Wireless 5000 Cardbus or PCI adapters - these adapters are support by Intel Connections version 6.2. Not supported are the Intel PRO/Wireless 2011B USB device and the Intel 2011B PCI Adapter - these adapters are supported by their own respective software. Windows XP is supported by this version of Wireless PROSet. You can manage your wireless connections either by the built-in utilities of Windows XP or via PROSet. If you desire to use Windows XP to manage the wireless connection, you need only to install the device driver - and not install PROSet.
