Chapter 5: The Changes of Knux

It is 12:30 AM. Knux, Sonic, and Knuckles make it to Revenge's Fortress. At the Mechanical Room, now is the time to conversate. It starts when Knux says angrily to Sonic, "Here comes Revenge, Sonic!! If you try to, make an attempt to, or even START to make an attempt to get Knuckles to his good side again, you'll get it from me!!!" and stares at Sonic coldly. Then he clenches both of his hands into fists right in front of them and are 2.5 inches away, the left one in front of Sonic, and the right one in front of Knuckles. They wait 5 seconds and... *SLASH!* Four metal claws on both hands shoot out from where his knuckles were right in front of Sonic and Knuckles! They are about six inches long. Knux looks at his hands and becomes surprised. He says, "What?!" Knuckles stays calm, thinking, "Stage 1 of the Dark Repairman, Knux!" and laughs, but not evilly. He is good again because of Knux! He pretended to be evil! Sonic will probably make the biggest mistake ever!

It is 12:33 AM. While Knuckles is laughing, Sonic gasps, gets startled, and goes back a few steps. He yells, "Aah! I gotta get away from that crazy guy!!" and jumps on top of Knuckles. They both fall. He moans. Knux becomes more surprised. Sonic points at Knux repeatedly and continues to do so while yelling, "Jump him, Knuckles! Jump him!" Knuckles growls and gets up. Sonic holds on to him while he gets up. Realizing his actions, he looks up and goes, "What the-- Whoa!" and lets go of him. Then Knuckles picks up Sonic, who says, "Wait. What are you doing?!" Knux says, "No! Wait! Don't execute that--" and stops when Knuckles jumps three feet into the air, and rockets headfirst with Sonic in front of him, slamming the teenage hedgehog on the floor. Sonic in now weakened. Knux is in awe, as if he forgot about the claws on his hands. He says, "That move... It's that slam! No wonder Revenge wanted him! Why Sonic?... Knuckles! Assist Sonic! And don't contradict me! Doing so will result in your fate!" He listens, holds out his hand, and looks at Knux. Not knowing, Sonic sits up and is dizzy. He notices Knuckles' hand and pulls him down. He punches him in the face and yells, "You idiot!" then gets up and kicks him down. Sonic continues, "What was that for?!" Knux says, "That answers my question..."

It is 12:33 AM. Revenge approaches the three, laughing. He saw and heard them! "Knux! I see that you have both Sonic and Knuckles! Good work! And Knux! Retract those claws, Dark Repairman!" He tries to retract them, but couldn't. He says, "Dang it! It can't be done!" Revenge says, "Very well! I think you are on Stage 2!" Knux says, "Huh?! What are you talking about?" He says, "You don't get it? This is exactly what happened to Return! In the year 2048!" Knux says, "Who's Return?" Revenge says, "He's my twin brother, Knux. About what I said earlier... Here, I'll show you!" and hands out a wrench. Knux grabs it from Revenge and says, "Why, thank you, Revenge! I'll use this very soon!" and he turns away. Knux's eyes turn red and narrows them, then he grins evilly. He faces them and says, "Change of plans! I'll use it right now!"
